The Program
The Snuggery Preschool is an educational daycare center open to children of all ethnic backgrounds from 2 to 5.9 years.

Philosophy and Approach
The Snuggery is a developmentally-based program and is designed to promote the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of the child.

Our primary purpose is to provide the young children entrusted to our care with the greatest possible security, safety, respect, and love.

It is our aim to develop a strong sense of self-esteem in each child, to instill wholesome values, to inspire joy and wonder in learning.

Schedule and Curriculum
The day is divided appropriately into periods of directed activities, free play, meals, and rest. Our rich developmental curriculum activities are organized around a monthly theme, such as self-awareness or letters and sounds. The children learn and explore through arts and crafts, music, movement and games, drama and puppetry, storytelling, nature studies & gardening, cooking, science experiments, pre-reading & pre-math and kindergym.

We make use of our community through neighborhood walks, visits to parks, and field trips to interesting places like the Little Farm, the Fire Station, the Berkeley Marina, the local music store, and much more.

Throughout the year we hold multicultural festivals and parades, including:

Parent Involvement
Parents are encouraged to be involved in the program through parent meetings, parent-teacher conferences, observations, field trips, festivals and gatherings, potluck dinners, workdays, and visits at any time.

Facility
We have four activity rooms indoors and a large outdoor space with ample equipment, trees, and gardens.

Staff
Our staff is made up of well-trained and experienced teachers, each with individual specialties. We maintain a sound 1 to 8 staff per child ratio.

Enrollment Information
Our doors are open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m to 5:30 p.m. and we're open year-round, with the exception of major national holidays and short spring and winter breaks.
